Personalising Student Learning

As a College we recognise the need to optimise and personalise the learning of all students & equip them with the skills, dispositions & essential understandings to be successful, contributing members of the 21st century society.

Teachers understand the links between e5, 21st century skills and literacy, recognising that all relate to effective teacher practice.  There is a strong culture of teacher professional learning enhancing teacher knowledge and understanding of how to personalise learning to ensure all students achieve success. In addition a collaborative team structure in place in core subjects at Year 7 & 8 supports the learning of all students.

The College Powerful Learning Framework captures the essence of our beliefs and values in relation to student learning. We have identified that it is essential to understand:

  • What it is powerful for all students to learn, in terms of  both disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding
  • How powerful learning is enabled from the learner and the teacher perspective and
  • The organisational structures and resources which support powerful learning.
